Deao 20kg High Torque Digital Servo Motor

Deao 20kg High Torque Digital Servo Motor

The Deao 20kg High Torque Digital Servo Motor is a powerful and reliable servo motor designed for robotics, RC vehicles, automation systems, and other applications that require strong and precise rotational movement. With a 20kg·cm torque rating at 6.8V–7.0V, this servo is capable of handling demanding mechanical loads while maintaining stable and responsive operation.

Featuring a full metal gear train and a durable aluminum alloy middle casing, the servo offers improved mechanical strength and heat dissipation compared with standard plastic-geared servos. Its coreless motor provides quick response, smooth operation, and reduced vibration, making it suitable for applications where controlled and repeatable movement is important.

High-Torque Performance

With up to 20kg·cm of torque at 6.8V–7.0V, the Deao servo is suitable for mechanisms that require significant force. It can be used for robotic arm joints, grippers, steering mechanisms, walking robots, and other heavy-duty motion-control applications.

The servo provides a speed of approximately 0.17 seconds per 60° at 6.8V, offering a practical combination of torque and movement speed for robotics and RC projects.

Full Metal Gear Construction

The servo uses a full metal gear train designed to provide greater durability and resistance to mechanical stress. Metal gears are particularly useful in applications where the servo is repeatedly subjected to higher loads or frequent directional changes.

The aluminum alloy middle casing also contributes to structural rigidity and helps dissipate heat generated during operation.

Coreless Motor for Smooth Response

The integrated coreless motor is designed for fast response and smooth rotational movement. Compared with conventional motor designs, a coreless motor can provide responsive operation with reduced vibration, making it well suited for precision-oriented robotics and RC applications.

Standard PWM Control

The Deao servo uses a standard PWM control signal, making it compatible with a wide range of controllers and development platforms. It can be controlled using Arduino boards, Raspberry Pi-based systems, RC receivers, robotic controllers, and servo driver modules such as the PCA9685.

Its standard 3-pin connection provides the required PWM signal, power, and ground connections for straightforward integration.

180° Rotation

The servo provides an approximately 180° operating angle with ±10° tolerance, making it suitable for applications requiring a wide range of controlled angular movement. This makes it useful for robotic joints, steering systems, pan-and-tilt mechanisms, grippers, and automated positioning systems.

Power Supply and Usage Recommendations

Because this is a high-torque servo, it can draw significant current when operating under heavy loads. A high-current power supply capable of handling up to approximately 2.5A peak current is recommended for reliable operation.

For projects using multiple servos, it is recommended to use an external BEC or dedicated servo power supply rather than powering the servos directly from the controller board.

For best performance:

• Use a suitable high-current power supply.
• Do not power high-torque servos directly from an Arduino 5V pin.
• Use an external servo power supply for multi-servo applications.
• Ensure the servo ground and controller ground are properly connected.
• Use strong servo horns and mounting brackets.
• Secure the servo firmly to prevent mechanical movement.
• Avoid continuously holding the servo at maximum load.
• Avoid prolonged stalling, as this can cause excessive current draw and heat buildup.

Important Note

These are economy-series servo motors and may not deliver performance up to the mark in demanding applications. Performance can vary depending on load, power supply, mechanical installation, and operating conditions.

If you require a higher-quality servo for demanding robotics or RC applications, consider upgrading to the TIANKONGRC TD-8125MG 25KG Digital Servo Motor 180°.
