Working Principle

The photocell controller continuously senses the level of ambient light around the sensor.

During the daytime, sufficient natural light is detected, so the controller keeps the connected lamp OFF.

As the surrounding light level decreases toward dusk, the photocell detects the reduced illumination and automatically switches the connected lamp ON.

When daylight returns, the increased ambient light is detected by the photocell, causing the controller to switch the lamp OFF again.

This automatic day/night switching cycle allows outdoor lights to operate without requiring a user to manually turn them on or off.
