Product Description
The BTS7960B H-Bridge 43A High-Power DC Motor Driver Module is a robust motor control module designed for driving high-current brushed DC motors in robotics, electric vehicle prototypes, automation systems, and DIY projects. It is built using Infineon BTS7960 high-power motor driver ICs and combines two BTS7960 drivers to form a powerful full H-bridge configuration.
The module supports a motor supply voltage range of approximately 6 V to 27 V and is designed to provide high-current motor control with integrated thermal and over-current protection. Its H-bridge architecture allows a connected DC motor to be driven in both forward and reverse directions, making it suitable for bidirectional motor control applications.
The control interface is designed for easy connection to microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, STM32, and other MCU platforms. The module includes onboard indicators for the 5 V logic supply and motor-driver output, helping with monitoring during development and troubleshooting.
A heatsink can also be soldered to the designated area of the module to improve thermal performance during higher-current motor operation.

Design and Construction
The BTS7960B motor driver module is built around two high-power BTS7960 driver stages arranged as an H-bridge. This configuration allows the motor current to be controlled in both directions.
The PCB includes dedicated motor power and control circuitry along with onboard indicator LEDs. A heatsink can be soldered to the designated area to improve heat dissipation during high-load operation.
The module is designed to interface with a low-voltage microcontroller while handling the higher voltage and current required by the connected DC motor.
Working Principle
The module uses an H-bridge configuration to control the polarity of the voltage applied to a brushed DC motor.
By changing the control signals from the microcontroller, the H-bridge changes the direction of current through the motor winding. This allows the motor to rotate forward or reverse.
PWM control can also be used through a compatible microcontroller to regulate the motor’s effective speed. The BTS7960 driver incorporates protection functions that help protect the driver during excessive current or thermal conditions.
Microcontroller Interface
The module can be controlled using suitable digital control signals from microcontrollers such as:
- Arduino
- ESP32
- STM32
- Raspberry Pi with suitable interface circuitry
- Other compatible MCU platforms
The control logic should be operated according to the module’s specified interface requirements. The motor power supply should be provided separately through the high-current motor supply connections.
Protection Features
The BTS7960-based design incorporates protection against abnormal operating conditions, including:
- Over-current protection: Helps protect the driver during excessive motor current conditions.
- Thermal protection: Helps protect the driver when excessive heat is generated.
- High-current motor driving: Designed for applications requiring substantially more current than typical small motor driver modules.
Protection features do not replace proper motor sizing, wiring, fusing, and thermal management.

Product Disclaimer
The 43 A figure represents the manufacturer’s stated high-current capability and should not be treated as a guaranteed continuous operating current under all conditions. Actual current capability depends on motor characteristics, supply voltage, PCB traces, wiring, cooling, heatsinking, ambient temperature, duty cycle, and installation.
For high-current applications, use appropriately sized power wires, connectors, fuses, and a suitable power supply. An additional heatsink and adequate airflow may be required for continuous high-load operation.
This module is intended for brushed DC motors and should not be directly used to drive BLDC motors.
Product images are shown for illustrative and representational purposes only. The actual product colour, dimensions, component placement, terminals, heatsink arrangement, and appearance may vary slightly depending on the manufacturing batch.
