12V DC 1/4" Pneumatic Solenoid Valve For Water/Gas – 2V025-08 (Normally Closed)

2V025-08 12V DC Pneumatic Solenoid Valve – 2-Way Normally Closed 1/4 Inch

Product Description

The 2V025-08 Pneumatic Solenoid Valve is a compact and versatile 2-way, 2-position normally closed solenoid valve designed for controlling the flow of air, gas, water, and other compatible non-corrosive fluids. Operating from a 12V DC power supply, it is suitable for pneumatic automation systems, DIY robotics, fluid-control projects, irrigation systems, and industrial applications.

The valve uses an electromagnetic coil to control the opening and closing of the internal flow path. When the coil is energized, the valve opens and allows the medium to pass through. When power is removed, the valve returns to its normally closed state, stopping the flow.

With a rated power consumption of approximately 6.5W / 540mA, the valve provides reliable actuation for applications requiring electrically controlled ON/OFF flow management. Its 100% ED continuous-duty rating allows the coil to remain energized for extended periods when operated within the specified conditions.

The valve body is constructed from aluminum alloy, providing a lightweight and durable housing. With a specified pressure range of 0.15 to 0.9MPa (21 to 130 PSI) and an IP65 protection rating, it can be used in a variety of indoor and suitable outdoor automation environments.

The valve features clearly marked IN → OUT flow direction markings, helping simplify installation and reduce the risk of incorrect plumbing.

Working Principle

The 2V025-08 is a normally closed electromagnetic valve. In its unpowered state, the internal valve remains closed and prevents the connected medium from passing through.

When 12V DC power is applied to the solenoid coil, the electromagnetic field moves the internal mechanism and opens the flow path. The connected air, gas, water, or other compatible fluid can then flow from the IN port to the OUT port.

When the power is removed, the valve returns to its normally closed position and stops the flow.

This simple electrically controlled ON/OFF operation makes the valve suitable for automated systems controlled by switches, relays, PLCs, microcontrollers, MOSFET drivers, and other control circuits.

Direct-Acting Operation

The valve uses a direct-acting mechanism, providing straightforward and responsive flow control. This makes it useful for compact systems where a simple electrically actuated valve is required.

The actual response and flow rate depend on operating pressure, fluid type, temperature, plumbing configuration, and other system conditions.

Continuous-Duty Operation

The solenoid coil is specified for 100% ED, meaning it is designed for continuous-duty operation under suitable operating conditions.

This allows the valve to remain energized for longer periods in applications such as automated fluid control, pneumatic systems, irrigation, and machine automation.

Adequate electrical power and appropriate installation should always be used to prevent excessive heating or electrical stress.

Flow Direction

The valve is directional. The flow should follow the arrow marked on the valve body:

IN → OUT

Incorrect installation can result in improper operation or reduced performance. Always verify the flow direction before connecting the valve to the system.

Product Disclaimer

Product images are shown for illustrative and representational purposes only. The actual valve may vary slightly in colour, dimensions, connector or wire arrangement, port appearance, surface finish, or other visual details depending on the manufacturing batch.

The valve should only be used with fluids and gases compatible with its materials and within the specified voltage and pressure ranges.

Please verify thread standards, port dimensions, operating pressure, fluid compatibility, and electrical requirements before installation.

This product is intended for suitable industrial, DIY, and automation applications and should not be used in safety-critical systems unless properly evaluated and certified for that application.

Important Notes

Directional Flow

Always install the valve according to the IN → OUT flow direction marked on the aluminum body.

Electrical Control

The coil draws approximately 540mA at 12V DC. When controlling the valve from an Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, or similar microcontroller, do not drive the coil directly from a GPIO pin.

Use a suitable relay, transistor, or MOSFET driver circuit capable of handling the required current.

Flyback Protection

When using a transistor or MOSFET to switch the solenoid coil, a suitable flyback diode or other appropriate suppression circuit should be used to help protect the switching electronics from inductive voltage spikes.

Pressure

Do not exceed the specified pressure range of 0.15–0.9MPa (21–130 PSI).

Fluid Compatibility

Use only air, gas, water, or other compatible non-corrosive fluids that are suitable for the valve’s construction and application.
