Variable Tone Generation

Working Principle

A passive buzzer does not contain the circuitry required to generate a tone automatically from DC power. Instead, it requires an alternating square-wave or PWM signal.

The microcontroller generates a signal at the desired frequency, and the module’s transistor driver controls the buzzer to produce the corresponding audible tone. By changing the PWM frequency, different tones and melodies can be created.

This is a passive buzzer, so it will not continuously produce sound when connected directly to DC power. A PWM or square-wave signal must be supplied to the input to generate an audible tone.
