8 Ohm 0.5 Watt Speaker-40mm

8 Ohm 0.5W Mini Speaker – 40mm Ultra-Thin Audio Speaker

The 8 Ohm 0.5W Mini Speaker is a compact and lightweight audio output component designed for embedded electronics, DIY projects, portable devices, and small audio applications. With an 8-ohm impedance and 0.5-watt power rating, it can be used with compatible audio amplifier circuits, MP3 player modules, microcontroller-based audio systems, and other low-power audio applications.

Featuring a 40mm diameter and approximately 5mm thickness, this ultra-thin speaker is suitable for projects where installation space is limited. Its slim construction makes it easy to integrate into compact enclosures, portable electronics, toys, robotic systems, and custom electronic devices.

The speaker can provide clear audio output for applications such as voice notifications, alarms, alerts, sound effects, music playback, and general audio feedback. It can be paired with suitable amplifier modules or audio-output circuits to produce sound from Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, MP3 player modules, and other compatible systems.

The 8-ohm impedance makes it suitable for many small audio amplifier circuits, while the 0.5W rated power makes it appropriate for low-power audio applications where compact size and simple integration are important.

Design and Construction

The speaker features a compact 40mm circular design with an approximately 5mm-thick profile, making it suitable for applications where available installation space is limited.

Its slim form factor allows it to be installed inside small electronic enclosures and portable devices without requiring significant internal space. The speaker can be mounted inside suitable housings or integrated into custom electronic assemblies according to the requirements of the project.

With an 8Ω impedance and 0.5W power rating, it is intended for low-power audio applications and should be connected to a compatible amplifier or audio-output circuit.

Working Principle

The speaker converts an electrical audio signal into audible sound through the movement of its internal diaphragm.

When an audio signal is supplied from a compatible amplifier or audio circuit, the speaker’s internal voice coil responds to the changing electrical signal. This produces mechanical movement of the diaphragm, which creates sound waves.

The speaker itself is a passive audio component and does not contain an integrated amplifier. Therefore, the connected audio source must provide a suitable amplified signal when required.

The 8Ω impedance allows the speaker to work with many small audio amplifier modules and compatible audio circuits, while the 0.5W rating indicates the recommended power-handling level of the speaker.

Product Disclaimer

Product images are shown for illustrative and representational purposes only. The actual speaker may vary slightly in colour, dimensions, terminal arrangement, diaphragm appearance, or overall construction depending on the manufacturing batch.

Arduino boards, Raspberry Pi boards, ESP32 boards, MP3 modules, amplifier modules, wires, enclosures, batteries, and other components shown in product images are not included unless specifically mentioned in the package contents.

The speaker is rated for 0.5W power. Do not exceed the recommended power rating, as excessive electrical power may cause distortion, overheating, or permanent damage.

The speaker is a passive component and does not include a built-in amplifier. Use a suitable amplifier or compatible amplified audio output for proper operation.

Actual volume and sound quality depend on the amplifier, audio source, enclosure design, input signal, mounting arrangement, and operating conditions.

The approximately 40mm diameter and 5mm thickness are nominal dimensions and may vary slightly depending on manufacturing tolerances.
